Each cup is cut from single piece of bamboo wood. There is no glue, no adhesive used. Therefore each cup is slightly different, reflecting the shape and specifics of the chunk of wood it is made from. In case you use it for toothbrushes, we recommend to use each cup to store max 4-5 of them (or 3 toothbrushes and toothpaste) to allow enough room for air circulation. More items you put in, more time it will take for all items to dry.
The cup has natural water resistance resulting from bamboo wood itself, further increased by additional thermal treatment. However, keeping the cup standing in the water all the time might lead to formation of limescale at the bottom of it.
Residues of toothpaste in water dripping from toothbrushes can lead to the formation of a white coating on the bottom of the cup. To avoid this, and to keep the cup sanitary, we recommend to rinse it in the hot water every once and then.
Based on the feedback from our customers we are now adding complimentary cork base to every package with Cottify toothbrush holder. It further improves the air flow, drainage efficiency and protects the cup from standing in the water.
The bottom of each cup is always warped inside and its shape is given by the individual raw bamboo it is made from. Bottom of the cup is never flat. Together with drainage holes its shape further improves the ventilation to keep the content dry.Each cup is made from a single piece of bamboo wood and therefore each cup is slightly different, designed by mother nature herself. Therefore some minor differences in color, perimeter width and shape are normal. Cups are certainly not uniform. However we are trying to keep this differences low by selecting only raw bamboo wood of very specific width and color.
Design was inspired by natural shape and characteristics of natural bamboo trunks. Each cup is carved from a single piece of bamboo. No glue. No adhesives. You will not find two completely identical.
